1969 E-Type Series 2, Fixed Head Coupe (FHC), seats 2.
Original Right hand drive, matching numbers 4.2l engine and chassis along with 4 speed gearbox and LSD.
Accompanied by Jaguar Heritage Certificate (pictured).
Exterior & Restoration: - 2010/2011 rotisserie restoration included bare metal preparation of every part of the car, where any body repairs were needed, they were made with new metal. Every nut and bolt was zinc plated and the car painted inside, underside and out in its original colour red.
- Such was the workmanship and attention to detail during its restoration.., all panel gaps, door jams and vehicle lines are perfect.
- A recent paint correction was carried out and replacement PPF (clear film) re-applied to the bonnet.
Wheels, Tyres, Brakes & Suspension: - Stiffer adjustable torsion bars along with adjustable Koni Classic shock absorbers, tuned to provide terrific neutral handling and a perfectly tweaked ride height.
- Original spec wire wheels replaced as part of the restoration, now shod with Dunlop Sports tyres, offering predictable handling and stable comfort.
- Brakes have all been recently rebuilt along with new ball joints and fresh gearbox oil. The car runs a Limited Slip Differential upgrade from a Jaguar XJS.
Engine: - When the original matching numbers engine was rebuilt, the expensive process of machining and inserting head gasket retainers into the deck was carried out as an essential upgrade to prevent head gasket failure of the 4.2 litre engine.
- Standard size bore liners were used in conjunctions with stronger upgraded, series 3 conrods, pistons and larger inlet valves. The original triple SU carburettors remain and have recently been adjusted and balanced.
- The Jaguar Specialist who carried out its recent service work was heard to comment to his staff that the only thing wrong about this car is that it is so good it is nearly too good. On a test drive the 4 speed manual gearbox was noted by a mechanic as being one of the best he's ever driven.
- The car won't ever overheat in traffic or when driven on hot days. It has always maintaining a normal operating temperature and an oil pressure around the 60 psi.
- A wonderful burble is emitted on the over-run, when lifting off over 2000rpm and at higher revs such as when changing back down gears to engine brake, crackles and pops from the straight piped exhaust.
- The car has had very little use since its rebuild and careful run in period.
Interior: - The interior trim is magnificent in black and blemish free, with extra insulation under the carpet
- The original radio and speakers are supplied along with the original handbook and a large service folder. Everything works in the car and on the dashboard. Even the original Jaguar clock tells the correct time twice a day 😜.
History: - Originally delivered, new, in the UK (1969), before coming to Australia just 2 years later, where it has been since.
- Previous long term owner of the car was a well known executive member of the Jaguar car club and worked in the Jaguar industry for many years. He personally undertook all of his own servicing on the car.
The quality of this vehicle makes it a must see for anyone in the market for a classic car or Jaguar enthusiast.
Please note, current Qld registration plate '69XKE' is not included with the vehicle sale, however is available to be negotiated separately.

No. 278 of 500 Genuine Peter Brock SS Group-A VL Show quality, stunning condition.
16k km showing, though vehicle has travelled c.105k km. Minimally driven for 30 years.
*Mechanical: pristine *Exterior: Renewed 'Permanent Red' *Interior: Like new
The VL SS Group A was the second car built for Group A racing purposes and also numbered 500 in total. Released in 1986 it was hot on top of Grice’s Bathurst win and the launch of the Unleaded V8. Due to the controversial Energy Polariser there was actually two versions of the Group A. Holden could see no technical merit in the Polariser and thus refused to fit it to the cars, so Brock refused to put decals with his signature on cars without it. As a result, Brock’s signature only appears on the higher spec Plus Pack variant.
The Plus Pack also included revised springs and anti roll bars as well as revised front suspension geometry and changed spring mounting pads. It also has improved cylinder head cooling with the introduction of an extra water passage to the head and a higher pressure fuel pump.
On the inside was a plaque on the glovebox indicating the vehicles build number. Seats were the familiar Scheel items and naturally the steering wheel was supplied by Momo, as was the leather gear knob.
The Exhaust was of the low restriction big bore variety and had headers designed with Group A racing in mind and as such featured a flange only inches from the cylinder heads. This was done as Group A regulations allowed a free exhaust from the first flange, so they put the first flange as close as possible to the engine to capitalise on the rules. The engine also featured heavy duty con rods and crankshaft as well as Crane (gold coloured) roller rockers and a lightened flywheel.
For the first time the Borg Warner T5G 5 speed transmission was standard fitment and diff was the 4 pinion Borg Warner item with 3.08 ratio
The new body kit comprised a new radiator grille, colour keyed bumpers, Racing specification spoilers on the front and on the boot lid and a small grooved Induction scoop attached to the bonnet with a new cold air induction set up.
All cars were painted in the Permanent Red colour, but of note is that the two prototypes were white.
